You may not need everything on this list. Bring what you have, or upload it to the portal before your appointment.
Photo ID and Social Security cardsFor you, your spouse and each child, with dates of birth.
Last year’s federal and state returnsNew clients only. We keep them on file after that.
W-2s and 1099sWages, contract work, interest, dividends, brokerage and crypto (1099-DA).
Form 1098 and property taxesMortgage interest, home equity interest and points.
Child care provider detailsName, address, tax ID and the total you paid.
Health insurance formsForm 1095-A if you bought a Marketplace plan.
Charitable contributionsWritten receipts from each church or charity.
Business income and expensesIf you are self-employed: bank statements or your books.
You do not need to bring everything on the first day. What matters is a return done right: every tax strategy that applies to you, and every position defensible in an audit. Finding that balance is our job.
